Beginner Bass Lesson Video Number 4 – Easily Create Your Own Lines (This video is from my website)
This video shows you how you can use a simple concept to create your own bass lines. It also explains how Bass Lessons Online at www.creativebasslessons.com can get you regular and progressive bass lessons delivered to your inbox.

The Affinity P-Bass is a good choice (in my opinion).

Little confused from 4:20 when you do root 5 and two passes, what fret numbers on what strings are you pressing down?
thanks
Frets 7 5 3 2, jumping across to the neighboring string on the same fret, using only the index finger.
Better than taking another good look is to listen closely, then experiment on your bass to copy the notes. That way you are training your “ears” which is much much better than training your eyes.
George
thank you thank you.. im not using my middle and index fingers as the main finger that im using.. im more on using my thumb.. but im also using my other fingers when scaling.. is it fine?

Hi George, I have been learning bass for a few months and was wondering if you can tell me more about creating a fill. Am I only supposed to use notes that are part of that particular key? Do I end a fill on the same note as the chord that is being played at that point in the music? Etc… As you can tell I haven’t done any theory yet and don’t come from a musical background but I’m becoming quite passionate about it. Thanks. K.
Hello K.
Take a look at my You Tube video “… Minor Pentatonic Scale Fills” for some answers.
Bass of Luck!

Hi George, I actually saw that after I sent you the message. It’s very informative, thanks. I just wanted to tell you that in 4 months of getting tips for bass from youtube your lessons are by far the most informative and thorough. Thanks for helping us beginners. K.
Now that’s effective “distance education”!
Enjoy your music,

Thank you, George. Your lessons teach me all the time. Now I’m a good bassplayer by your lessons.
Thanks for your input. I was initially self-taught too. (At that time, I did not even now that people taught bass.)
It is good to find that you get a little bit out of each lesson; that is success for us both
George
That is excellent news! Do you have a video of you playing?
