Amy Winehouse couldn’t carry Lucinda Williams’s “G” string!

  6. indigotay says:

    her new album is “West.”

This song is old, and is on her 1989 Self-titled album that is out of print now (but not too hard to find) but was released on Rough Trade Records. There’s talk of a re-printing this Spring.

There’s also a good live version on 2005′s Live at the Filmore.

I fucking Love Lucinda. It doesn’t get more honest than her. I just worry that she may be drinking too much or drugging.

  16. caraphyllis says:

What a band she had then, esp. the guitarist with the glasses. Her latest band is good, but this one here is great.

  17. nannyjanny says:

It’s Kenny Vaughn….Doug Pettibone is a great all around guitarist, but Kenny has balls and Kenny bouncing off of JJ in the old Car Wheels band…..there was just nothing like it….the two of them on Joy is killer. Last I heard Kenny was playing with Marty Stewart

  18. caraphyllis says:

Thanks for the info. I saw her with Kenny on lead guitar at the Newport Folk Festival maybe 10 years ago (?). If there were a roof on that place, they would have blown it down.

  23. JoeBobaRebob says:

That’s cousin kenny vaughn w/ the spectacles and badass guitar. Now, wisely, he’s with marty stuart’s fabulous superlatives, one of the greatest bands of all time.

  24. El135o says:

Love the lead guitar tone! Halfway between Creedence and ZZ.

  25. hendrix83 says:
