    Truly a masterpiece.!

While my friends were telling me how great Rush and Ted Nugent were in high school I knew differently.

RTF featured REAL musicians. One of the best concerts I ever attended and front row to boot.

    Damn! I’m getting old!

I’m 50 and I agree. Although I think Rush is pretty good, Ted Nugent absolutely SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention he’s an asshole…

Someone recently asked me my favorite music of all time and this immediately came to mind even though I haven’t heard it in years. Thank you. It’s incredible. These guys are the greatest musicians.

I vote for Romantic Warrior. Since I bought this album back in ’76 I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything more striking to my mind and soul than RW. Chick is a genius, as well as the other guys. We’re are all aging together, gentlemen. Young at heart, as they say….

  6. outoper says:

Turn on RW and picture this: A “Don Quijote de la Mancha-type” Romantic Warrior dressing up on his armored suit in preparation for the relentless quest of his “impossible love” lady. Who amongst us hasn’t lived that himself as a young man?

    Wich track?

  8. outoper says:

This very one, Romantic Warrior. The music expresses/translates the multitude feelings he has experienced moments before his departure to the “impossible mission” of his life….

One of the all-time brilliant compositions ever recorded. Too bad they butchered it on their reunion tour last year.

    Love this tune! 5*****

there’s no such thing as “butchering” a jazz song. I don’t understand how anybody can negatively criticize these guys.. I saw them last year, it blew my mind..

  12. saraba9oibito says:

    many many findings.

    DiMeola’s guitar was gut-strung, and

the core of this group was Stanley.

  13. prjctcivilian says:

    they all made the band

  14. outoper says:

As Stanley said, Chick created the sound (of RF)

  15. Cano1478 says:

For the most part this is true, he is usually the most well known. I personally think Mr. Meola is slightly underrated.

  16. outoper says:

Al DiMeola is one of the world’s most talented guitar players alive

  17. Cano1478 says:

This is true for people who are either old enough to know the band or who like good music like me. There are MANY people I know who don’t know him. When they think of guitar players they think of Prince for example.

  18. outoper says:

You’re absolutely right. I’m old enough to have had the privilege of spending my then few bucks with Steely Dan, Doobie Bros and Return to Forever, among others. And I was very happy….

  19. saraba9oibito says:

    yes, of course. However,

Every band, group, orchestra, quartet, etc. has the core.

Concert Master, Conductor, Band Master,….many many (and kind of) “core” must be here for the players to be stable.
