Stanley Jordan – Amazing Guitar Tapping (jazz) on letterman
www.marinoshop.com.br - Stanley Jordan (July 31, 1959— ) is an American jazz fusion guitarist, best known for his development of the touch technique for playing guitar. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received an AB in music from Princeton University in 1981. Normally, a guitarist must use two hands to play each note. One hand presses down a guitar string behind a chosen fret to prepare the note, and the other hand either plucks or strums the string to play that note. Jordan's touch ...

Exactly. I’ve been playing guitar for years now and simply don’t believe this…
some guys cant stand their idols are not the best guitar in the world, but honestly, this guy’s technique and musicality is by far superior to satriani for mention a guitarrist whit a lot of fame
Will Lee rules!
lol all generations download…you cant blame one generation. And who says the music industry is fucked? If anything technology such as itunes has made music more accessible to purchase wherever you may be in the world.
The jazz guys are always the best. And notice how he is playing clean – no distortion to mask imperfections.
where can you get his guitar?
I half agree with that. But I dont think its strictly just jazz guys that are like that.
El bajista es adrian brody version aleman! xDDD
Virtuoso. Hands down.
i just dont think any jazz guitarist can even get close to him right now just because of the melodic possibilities that his technique employs who agrees with me?
I disagree. Do you play an instrument? His technique is basically like playing piano but vertically. He loses tone because of tapping, but he is a Hell ofa player. Benson is fantastic, Joe pass is a killer, Bobby Broom is great, and Pat Metheny is so musical.
yes i play guitar very well actually and his tone is still good and i agree its like playing the piano but other jazz guitarists are more limited to what they can do because of their basic technique and the possibilities are endless with SJ’s technique and he can create better pieces because he can do so much more with the guitar you dont understand many jazz guitarists sound the same and SJ just raises the bar because only a handful of players can play SJ but many can play PM or JP
If you play guitar well, then your ear is severely fucked up. Many jazz guitarists sound the same and many can play like Pat or Joe? I disagree. Tell me one guy who sounds like Pat Metheny or one guy that sounds like Joe Pass. I think Tuck Andress is very inventive as well, and he does not approach the instrument like Mr. Jordan does. Instead, he uses “basic techniques” like finger picking and makes it amazing. Everyone has their own thing, but based off of similar ideas to what they play.
bet ths guy can type a billion words a min!
what a funk bass
cheesay…
That bass is great
You’re right, tapping allows a lot of control over musical content unlike traditional picking and strumming. But speaking as a guitarist “hybrid playing” would give you even more (holding a pick but also tapping too). You could tap your melodies and strum your chords or sweep pick your arpeggios and w/e else you if you hold a pick but still tap.
It is an old Vigier guitar. I do not think they still make them.
And now your weather on the 8′s…
Will Lee funkin it up !
haha awesome. That’s actually why I watch the Weather Channel
Jazz man.
is he blind, because the way he plays makes him look blind..
No, he isn’t blind.
