Tapping and Harmonics Solo Bass – ‘Epic Love’, Zander Zon
Epic Love is an original composition I wrote several years ago for my girlfriend. As I am the world's worst singer, I wanted to try to write a sort of love song on the bass - which proved extremely challenging! Michael Manring's 'Selene' and 'Music for Armchair Funambulists' (which, in my opinion, is one of the best pieces of music ever written) showed me it was possible... you should most def try getting signed to Candyrat.

THATS IT!
Come on this deserves like. 1,000,000,000 views at least.
You’re damn right.. I guess just wait and let’s be proud to be one of those who have already seen it. I have already shown it to most of my friends, if there’s a guy on Youtube that should be supported then it’s you Zander.
You’re definitely my favorite “Youtube-musician” and solo-bassist.
What’d really interest me.. how is the name of that reverb source you’re using? Would love to try it out! And.. is the cd already done and buy-able?
I have had this song favorited for years now, and I could still fall asleep listening to it….
did you write that?
amazing
If only people could realize what a bass is actually capable of… Seriously man, Fantastic work.
This is incredible!!! What gauge strings do you use? They look like 30′s or 35′s
That is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard on a bass! I wish I could play like that. I do play bass, but not even close to this caliber.. You rock man!!
Piccolo bass strings. Which is basically guitar strings.
Amazing, can’t find the words to describe this. Great job!
hoe
Amazing… Really inspiring stuff right there.
1.02 section and 1.46 section is my favoruite bits.
Really nice progressions!
thanks for the kind words, everyone!
Nice Zon.
what did you use for that amazing spacious reverb effect?
Did you use an acoustic simulator?
this is one of the best bass pieces I have heard in my life. If you dont get signed no on should.
Greetings from Norway
The angels in heaven should be jealous of you. The sound you get is so personal, elegant and delicate. As much I listen your recordings the more I like them. Terrific job!. God bless you man!.
Amazing piece of work! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Are harmonics where you place your fingers on top of the metal frets slightly?
Great bass song!!!Lovely written!!!
I’m watching this with my jaw agape, i can’t believe the melodies you are getting out of this instrument. very tasteful use of effects, well done!
They are when you put your finger on the string above the fret, just enough to stop it from vibrating after is is plucked/picked. These are called natural harmonics.
WICKED :O
